As much as we want to reassure you that the people in your life will get along swimmingly, that they will support your every decision and never try to influence you or guilt you into doing something they want - that would be a lie. While weddings can bring out the best in people, they can also make otherwise lovely family members and friends behave in the oddest ways. We see it all the time - and we're not immune. My own father hated the name of our  venue, and wouldn't let it go. My sister forgot my engagement party. Like - didn't show up. My husband's good friend insisted on bringing a plus one that we didn't know, or threatened not to come.
